Coconut Pecan Frosting

{Coconut Pecan Frosting}
Also known as German Chocolate cake frosting

{Ingredients}
4 medium egg yolks
1 cup of evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
¼ cup of butter
¼ cup margarine (You can substitute this for butter if you would like)
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 ½ cup flaked unsweetened coconut
1 ¾ cups pecans- finely chopped
(obviously this is before they were finely chopped!)

In a cold medium sauce pan combine the egg yolks, evaporated milk, sugar, butter and margarine. Turn on heat to medium or medium-high and whisk frequently until the mixture boils. Continue stirring for 15 minutes until the mixture thickens and remove from heat. Whisk in the vanilla, coconut and pecans.
(Special note- make sure that you keep an eye on the mixture and whisk or stir frequently or it will burn)

I spread this on store bought brownie mix to change it up, it makes them delicious!
